TIPS:  How to take photos of your skin condition

  1. If possible, ask someone to help take the photo.

  2. Photos should be taken in a well lit area. Natural lighting is ideal.

  3. Remove any distractions in the frame (e.g. clothing, jewelry, busy background).

  4. Focus your camera on the skin lesion by touching the phone screen.

  5. Orient the camera parallel to your skin. Avoid odd angles.

  6. Take a steady picture by holding the phone with both hands.

  7. If possible, place a ruler sticker next to the spot on your skin.
